The Green Island: a pioneering model of coastal ecological urbanism
At a time when cities seek to reconnect with nature, La Isla Verde emerges as a visionary proposal: a self-sufficient community in symbiosis with the marine environment. Conceived by BC Estudio Group, this artificial island redefines the idea of "coastal living," combining sustainability, technological innovation, and a deep ecological sensitivity.

A new paradigm for coastal life
At a time when cities seek to reconnect with nature, La Isla Verde emerges as a visionary proposal: a self-sufficient community in symbiosis with the marine environment. Conceived by BC Estudio Group, this artificial island redefines the idea of "coastal living," combining sustainability, technological innovation, and a deep ecological sensitivity.
The project is developed on land reclaimed from the sea, with a rocky base designed to promote marine biodiversity. This foundation not only supports the urban complex but also acts as a new biotype that revitalizes the Mediterranean ecosystem.
Architecture, nature, and technology in balance
The complex includes 202 bioclimatic homes, a hotel with a spa and conference center, a marina with 500 berths, and large green areas, pedestrian walkways, and leisure spaces.
More than 35,000 m² of sustainable architecture are integrated into the landscape through terraces, gardens, and natural materials that interact with the environment.
Each home is oriented to maximize natural light and cross ventilation, reducing energy consumption. The complex operates with renewable energies —solar, wind, and geothermal— and incorporates advanced greywater reuse systems.
Internal mobility is 100% electric, and the parking lots are hidden under a wooded hillside, preserving the island's natural aesthetics.
A replicable model of an ecological and safe city
Beyond its architectural value, La Isla Verde proposes a new model of safe and sustainable urbanism, adaptable to international contexts. Its insular and controlled design creates a sense of protection and community, a quality especially relevant in regions where urban security is a priority—such as coastal areas of Brazil or African countries.

The concept of modular prefabrication allows this model to be replicated in different parts of the world: from inland lakes to tropical or Mediterranean environments, maintaining the principles of efficiency, self-sufficiency, and environmental respect.
By "creating" its own coast through a rocky base, Green Island not only generates human habitat but also marine life, functioning as a catalyst for biodiversity.
Recognitions and international projection
The project has been included in the exhibition "Il·luminacions. Catalunya Visionària" and is supported by Greenpeace, which highlights it as an example of balance between urban development and environmental sustainability.
With La Isla Verde, BC Estudio Group reaffirms its commitment to architecture that generates life, establishing Barcelona as a global laboratory of ecological urbanism.

An invitation to build the future: The Green Island is not just a project; it is a replicable vision for the communities of tomorrow.
If you are a promoter, investor, or public entity interested in developing a sustainable urbanism model, BC Estudio Group invites you to be part of this new generation of projects that combine architecture, nature, and technology.
