A sensitive and impressive project respects and harmoniously interacts with the natural environment.
The main goal of the architectural project at the family winery was to integrate various spaces under a unified design. This collaboration between the client and the architect ensured the design reflected the winery’s tradition and quality.
A key feature of the project is “The Arcade,” a porch-archway that connects different parts of the winery. This facilitates communication between access gates under the hills. Within this underground network, two spaces stand out: the “Great Room,” for welcoming distinguished guests, and the “Round Room,” at the intersection of multiple tunnels. The Round Room has a grand vault and a Foucault pendulum, symbolizing the passage of time.
The project also emphasizes meticulous attention to materials and lighting. Natural quartzite slabs were used for the flooring, while the walls were finished with cement and mica. Floor-mounted lights and copper cones in the walls create a captivating play of reflections, reminiscent of starry nights.
